Massive X seems super powerful but you would need to put in some serious time to be able to feel confident sculpting new sounds. For comparison, synths like Pigments or Serum give a bit more visual feedback that helps you see what you are doing. I really love some of the presets, but have not taken the plunge into designing sounds beyond simple envelope tweaks because the user interface is not super inviting or intuitive. The bugs are forgivable so long as they get fixed, but it falls into the trap of being esoteric without the resources.
